At the end of April 2026, Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla of the United Kingdom visited the United States for an official State Visit by invitation of U.S. President Donald Trump. The trip, at a time of tension in the trans-Atlantic partnership, was universally hailed as a masterclass in statesmanship by the King and Queen.

This letter, on the King’s behalf, is in reply to a letter of thanks and congratulations for the success of their visit.
